Thinking busy is not busy, no drugs at the magic mountain, dont stay at home when you could be summer leaguing instead.

“Busy is a state of mind, not a state of being”. Personally I save 7mins per day by eating cake whilst returning from my run to my desk instead of being stationary, that’s 35mins saved during the working week, which is enough time for an extra run. It also keeps my desk free of cream. With a little bit of diary waste intervention agile streamlining synergy you should be able to squeeze some of this EVRC fun in…

Thursday 20 April, 18:00-20:00. Club night at Magic Mountain, Beeston, Nottingham, NG9 2NB.  Magic Mountain

Magic Mountain, the outdoors/camping/running discount store in Beeston  have agreed to hold a club night for EVRC and guests on Thursday 20 April, 6:00pm-8:00pm.  Brands stocked include Hilly, Ronhill, Altra, Mountain Equipment, Sprayway and Bridgedale and stock is mostly samples, overstock and seconds. It's cheap anyway but on our EVRC night we get a 25% discount.  It isn't confirmed but there might also be a visit from the Altra rep to talk about zero drop shoes.

Thought we'd round the evening off with a visit to the excellent Star Inn which is five minutes away and conveniently opposite the bus and tram station.   If you're after food, the Star stop serving at 8:00pm so you may need visit the shop early or get a kebab on the way home.

Magic Mountain is at New Vernon House, Vernon Avenue (off Wollaton Road), Beeston, Nottingham, NG9 2NB

Getting there:  There is no parking at Magic Mountain.  Closest parking is in Sainsburys  car park (access via Cross Street)  but if you want to park closer to the Star, park in Tesco car park (not if you're precious about your car's paintwork  though) or in the practically-named  Former Fire Station Car Park on  Wollaton Road opposite Tesco .  There is very limited parking at the Star.

The Star is opposite the tram and bus station.  If you come by bus or tram and are heading to Magic Mountain, get off in central Beeston, walk up Wollaton Road, go past the pedestrianised area (High Road)  and Vernon Avenue is the next turning on the right - there's a good old fashioned 'Head Shop' on the corner called 'Happy Daze'.

Saturday/Sunday 22nd-23rd July Club camping weekend. Eric Byrne campsite, Baslow.

We’re having a camping and running weekend over in Baslow. They’ll be some running over the local edges including some navigational lessons, some climbing and some ale consumption. If you’re interested in coming comment on the FB thread or have a chat on club night.

Saturday 19th August 2017. Reykjavik 10k/1/2 marathon/marathon.

One of our annual international away days to go exploring. We’ve been regular visitors to Reykjavik over the years for race day. The race is combined with the national culture festival so it’s a running party weekend. The loose itinerary is fly and meet on the Friday in Reykjavik for the expo and Italian snacks. Win the races on Saturday then enjoy a sophisticated few hours submerging ourselves in culture night. The Sunday is recovery runs/spa/curry/beer. Fly home on monday. Flights go from Luton (EasyJet) and the hotel of choice is Hotel Leifur Eiriksson. Most people tend to extend their stays around the weekend as there's a lot to see and rotting food to be sampled. Come play!  If you need any more info feel free to ask any questions on facebook or catch up with me on clubnight.
