Welcome to (almost) December. If you're feeling competitive that leaves just a few more weeks to get any races in for the EVRC champs. The champs have been updated, so have a peruse and check that we've got your results and let me know if anythings off.
There's plenty going on this month in EVRC. Which gives you loads of get out clauses from any December activities that dont appeal..e.g sorry cant make the office party (there's no way im talking to you when im not getting paid for it) as im racing this weekend.
Here's the Events list for the next few weeks.
Saturday 1st December
North Midlands XC R3 Shipley. 13:50 Ladies. 14:20 Gents. We're currently enjoying our strongest ever showing in this league. Gents Vets are in 3rd sniffing at 2nd and eyeing up 1st. Ladies are 5th in range of 4th. Usual rules apply: Wear team vest/t-shirt/tassels and run. Usual plea applies: We need everybody thats available to come and play, we've done 2 hard races lets not waste that effort.
EVRC Night Out. 19:00 The Tap, Derby, DE1 2ED (and other pubs http://www.evrc.co.uk/content/evrc-cask-ale-and-cocktails-crawl
). The annual Christmas pub tour is in Derby this year. A civilized everybody invited drink based evening with crisps. Bring yourselves and anybody else who fancies a drink and isnt a complete tool / crys / fights / steals crisps.
Wednesday 12th December (club-night)
ARSE 18:30, FARTS 18:30, POOPS 19:00 and normal club run 19:00. The full guide is at the bottom of the email but in summary its a longer than normal run in the mud.
Wednesday 19th December (club-night)
Fuddle and lights run (plus London marathon draw) 19:00. The traditional lets go find some xmas lights run then return back to base for a fuddle. If you entered the London marathon ballot and didnt get in you may qualify for the EVRC place. Check the criteria here http://www.evrc.co.uk/content/london-marathon-2019
and let me know you want in on the draw.
Friday 28th December
EVRC Dream Mile, Rutland Sports Park (Ilkeston) 19:00. Our timed and PB/Records valid 1 mile race on the track. Seeded races under the floodlights. You can enter on the day, but pre-entry will help out with our organisation. Aiming for a £2 pre entry fee (covers cost of hiring track) but we'll confirm over the next few days.
Saturday 29th December
EVRC Relays, Wollaton Park. 10:00. EVRC teams go head to head in a relay (2mile leg). There used to be the Notts AC Xmas relays but they ceased in 2016. Therefore we created our own last year and it turned out to be a fun way of spending an hour on a frosty morning. Therefore we're doing it again. Entrants will be seeded then randomly put together hopefully to make teams as even as possible. If you could pre-enter by replying to this email, jump on facebook or tell me (john W) or Mel on a Wednesday so we can sort the teams out before we get there.
Saturday 12th January
EVRC Awards Night, Our ClubHouse (St Giles Park). 19:00. £10 per ticket. Its the 2018 season Awards night. Over the year we have lots of championships and challenges going on in the background. Some are obvious like the PAIRS champs others sneak along in the shadows like ERIC and we also have the peer nominated Tony Trembirth award (we'll be needing your votes for that over the next few weeks). The awards night is when we reveal the winners, have a drink and eat far too much. You need to pre-buy a ticket (£10) via Mel or Matty (or reply to this email and reserve 1). The ticket covers the cost of the venue and being fed. The food is rather plentiful and good. There'll also be EVRC bake-off competition so plot your cake baking.
A lot of us are EVRC November babies ie our membership rolls November to November which means your subs may be due (if you're not sure you can log into the EVRC website and click your profile, or just ask by reply to this mail). Reminder emails are sent as we have difficultly in letting people leave, we're very clingy, we will hunt you down. The membership remains at £28 for 12mnths and covers the UKA fees/membership, all the league entry fees (thats 13 rather good races) and all the EVRC love stuff. Please pay by BACS or cheque or cash. We dont take peppercorns or camels. Bank details for BACS payment are:

That'll do. Hopefully see you Saturday for a Shitley park paddle and a Derby pint. There's mulled wine as the XC treat this week. - John W
