Bob, Newark and Pairs too.(plus a hairy helmet)

Bob Graham.

We’ll go into more detail at a slightly later date when the Fell Goats return and provide a review, but in summary: Its really frickin hard and an awesome thing to have on your fell (any) running CV… its a 66 mile, 27,000 ft circuit of 42 of the highest peaks in the English Lake District within 24 hours. Lots of info can be found here http://www.bobgrahamclub.org.uk/ . Neil and Kieran join the EVRC list of successful Bob Graham runners (Nick Lander, Nick Evans, Phil Pittson, Gary Tudbury)

Summer League R3, Balderton.

Wednesday 21st June 19:15. Flowserve Sports & Social Club Hawton Lane, Balderton (near Newark), NG24 3BU.

Car-parking sounds a little tricky so if you can car share please do and aim for a bit earlier.

The course is (max) 6m out and back flat course on paths with a water stop on your turnaround point.

The usual entry rules apply…if you're a EVRC member wear an EVRC top and turn up.

Team EVRC are doing incredibly well with the Ladies team on the podium in 3rd (out of 29), 6 points off 2nd. To put that in perspective the Ladies team have never picked up a league medal (its really hard to compete against the bigger and uglier clubs). The Gents are in 5th (from 23) but we scored heavy at HP because we were missing a few bodies. If you’re mobile you’re needed a big team really helps push everybody on.

Pairs Championships: R2 Mystery Results. http://www.evrc.co.uk/content/pairs-championship

The scores are on the boards and at the halfway point its close. We have another pairs round and a handicap to go. Last year everything switched in Round 3 and came down to the final race…so keep an eye out on the fixtures….

Hairy Helmet Relay. http://www.evrc.co.uk/content/hairy-helmet-relays-2

A fine evening was spent in the Darley park sunshine. We had 5 teams, beers and curry finish.

The Male Vets came in 3rd overall and took the Age group win in the process, the mixed open team came in 3rd in their category and the mixed vets grabbed 4th in their category. Fine stuff.
